Victoria and Son was launched to showcase the designs that have been accumulated during the 80+ years of the firm’s existence. Some of these designs are new takes on ones which we have produced in earlier decades, and others are entirely new. Being a family run business provides us with a common thread and the shared experience that has been passed down from Father to Son and now Grandson. This heritage is a unique resource and serves as a design reference as well as inspiration for the future.

Our company was established in New York City in 1933 by Frederick and specialized in unusual and high-quality English and Continental antiques. The firm quickly began to also offer full production capabilities for bespoke cabinetry, metalwork, finishing and upholstery. The company is now run by Frederick’s son, Tony, a respected expert in the field of 18th Century French furniture and decorative arts, and by Tony’s own son, Freddy. We continue to offer unusual antiques, our own fine furniture, custom design services & production, and three generations worth of design experience and expertise.

The Master Chair-Maker's Art is the catalog published by Frederick P. Victoria & Son for its 1984 exhibit of the same name. It includes 30 examples of some of the finest and most unusual French chairs from 1710 - 1800 covering the Late Louis XIV, Regence, Louis XV, Louis XVI, and Consulate styles. Accompanying these chairs are introductory essays by Anthony Victoria, Olivier Bernier, and Mark Hampton as well as a Glossary of the French terms and a Bibliography.
