CUSTOM PROJECTS
We regularly partner with Interior Designers and Architects to create pieces specific to their project needs. We believe this is a special opportunity to make something unique, which we hope will make our client's client love the project even more. Below is a basic outline of the process.
STEP 1 - TELL US YOUR IDEA
This is where it starts. Tell us what sort of piece you’re looking for and what your inspiration is. How do you want to use the piece? What sort of materials do you want to include?
You can reach us at 1 (718) 392-9651 and set up a meeting to discuss your project or send us your ideas, pictures, inspirations, dimensions or layouts to info@fpvictoria.com
STEP 2 - CONCEPT OUTLINE AND QUOTATION
Based on your inspiration, we will put together an estimate and lead-time for your project. If needed, we may also include a concept sketch so everyone is on the same page.
Depending on how complex the project is this estimate will be a fixed number or a range. If the ideas for the piece are more fully fleshed out, we should be able to give you a fixed estimate.
STEP 3 - DESIGN
Upon project approval, we will begin drafting shop drawings and send you a confirmation of order.
At this point we will also set up a private, password protected, client page for you on our website. There you will find all the documents and images of your project and be able to monitor its progress.
STEP 4 - FABRICATION
Once the shop drawings are approved we will begin making sawdust! (Or metal-dust). Shortly after this stage starts, you will also receive finish samples for approval so your piece can move smoothly to the next phase when it’s ready.
STEP 5 - FINISHING AND UPHOLSTERY
After fabrication, your piece will move into finishing where it gets its “look”. Pieces will be finished based on approved samples - we do request having the approved sample in hand while finishing. If it's possible to cut the sample, we will happily send you part of it, or we can send you the sample for your records when the project is complete. If upholstery is involved, this will happen after finishing. We generally work with COM or COL, so please be sure we have your material beforehand so there are no delays.
Once this is all done it time to set up delivery!
A WORD ABOUT CHANGES
Projects change all the time. It’s a fact of life and we will do our best to accommodate whatever change you’d like. However, depending on what stage of production we are in and the type of change needed, changes may require additional charges and time. We will do our best to make this process as easy as possible.
